Kani, i.e. crab, is one of the most versatile ingredients used in kosher sushi, and Toronto residents love it in all of its various forms. It is commonly used in gojira rolls, Las Vegas rolls, Tootsy maki, king crab rolls, and a wide variety of other types of rolls. It can also be served nigiri-style, with parts of the crab held together with rice by another type of seafood, often octopus or squid.
Kani’s delicious flavor is often complemented by any of a wide variety of seasonings, which gives you the opportunity to include it in several forms should you be holding a party or big event. In addition to rice, other seasonings often used with it include tobikko, wasabi, avocado, garlic, tomato, chili, and cucumber, among others. This versatility makes it a centerpiece of our menu and a favorite among our customers.
We also offer this type of kosher sushi with Japanese mayonnaise, which sweetens the flavor. Ginger and shoyu (Japanese soy sauce) can also create a wealth of complementary flavors that can be tailored to suit the tastes of just about anyone.
Our standard kani offerings include both the nigiri versions and crab stick sushi rolls. These sushi rolls include an exterior of seaweed that is wrapped around rice. The crab and usually 2-3 vegetables are in the middle and create rich blends of flavor that appeal to many of the people who enjoy Japanese cuisine.
We have kani rolls and nigiri-style options available for carryout, and customizing them to your preferences can be done quickly and easily. Should you want kosher sushi for an event in Toronto, be sure to ask us about the different ways that we can utilize this ingredient. If you don’t know much about sushi and would like us to provide you with our most popular options, we can do that as well.
