Salmon hand rolls are a favorite type of kosher sushi both in Toronto and throughout the rest of North America. This stems largely from the fact that the fish is already popular in many of its other forms, though we are confident that once you have tried ours, you’ll agree that it is best when served as sushi.
While salmon as Nigirizushi is most popular in Japan, our Canadian customers typically prefer to have it in rolls. Among the most popular rolls made from salmon are the Alaska roll, the British Columbia roll, the Philadelphia roll, the Rainbow roll, and the Seattle roll. These rolls include many different ingredients that complement the pure taste of the fish beautifully.
The Seattle roll is an especially popular option among kosher sushi lovers. Along with salmon, the ingredients used in this include cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese. In this roll, the salmon may be either raw or smoked, so be sure to express your preference when placing an order.
Philadelphia rolls are also popular and quite similar to the Seattle rolls. The main differences are that it includes either cucumber or avocado rather than both, and that onion can be used instead of avocado.
British Columbia rolls also include salmon, though for those only the skin is used. That skin is either grilled or barbecued. Other ingredients include cucumber and sweet sauce. Roe is often included as well.
